Yalding

Noun. Gerund or present participle of the verb: Yald

Yalding was a common pastime during the Neanderthal period when groups would yald as part of the celebrations of the spring equinox. Homo Sapiens continued the practice and some echoes might still be found in ancient Sumatran tea ceremonies. Under the Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland and Wales yalding was outlawed along with eating mince pies at Christmas though how anyone might yald while eating a mince pie is not recorded. It remained as an underground pursuit but as getting the equipment and special grease became increasingly difficult the art died.

Yalding remains illegal in some states.

(NB Some of this may be incorrect, As Abe Lincoln famously said "Don't believe everything you read on the Internet)
