VISIT TO THE CITY FARM

in Wateringen.
A slow begin of the day, perhaps but after lunch I mounted my bike. The weather looked just wonderful through the window. The terrible storm had become quieter. Where to cycle to?
I decided to take a familiar route, From the Madestein park, to the Uithof park and from there to Wateringen where I like to visit the city farm.
I followed this peacock, hoping to see this strange animal in all his glory. A young woman who volunteers there, told me he has four females now around. I saw two of them, none interested a bit in this man, at least at the moment I was there.
But I liked him nevertheless.

My haiku:

In my youth we used
To sing: Pauw, pauw I am much
Prettier than you.

In dutch language: Pauw, pauw, ik ben mooier dan jou.

And the quote by Christoffer Fry in : The Lady's Not for Burning (1949):

It's always our touches of vanity / That manage to betray us.
