Fishing Snowy Egrets

I spent a couple hours early this afternoon watching 4 snowy egrets fish.

Were they putting their hopes...on the boating ropes?

Fish they were hoping to find...as they balanced on the lines?

 Grabbing lunch out of the brine...as they stood on re-inforced twine?

Would I have to listen to them whine...if they didn't feed like swine?

They did complain, but just a little.

"If we only had the pelicans bill...then, I'm sure we could get our fill!!"

Of course, with 4 birds, we had to have many territorial skirmishes. And, the skirmishes were noisy. So fun to watch.
