Only 100 harvests left

I read a disturbing article by George Monbiot last week (here if you are interested.  It will also explain my title! We're treating soil like dirt).

Apparently our intensive farming techniques are killing the soil.  The average allotment has a third more organic carbon and 25% more nitrogen than commercially farmed land and can yield more than 4 times the food per hectare!
