Aperture on Life

Don't Touch my Baby

Two seconds later saw me on my back as Mum charged towards me! There are a solid iron bars between us but I'd poked the lens between them to get the shot.  The little calf is a female, born only hours ago and Mum is not enjoying the attention to her new arrival.

I was wasn't alone as the children next door are on holiday and the estate boys have been fencing close to the barn. I came away without the shot I wanted, not wanting to upset her further. I can always go back.
I've just come in for a bite to eat. I've been having a clear up in the garden and have finally cut back all the old stalks. I'm now trying to get on top of the nettles before they take over again.  Making hay whilst the sun shines, clouds are already looming overhead and the wind is getting up.  It looks as though this will be my only chance for a couple days so I'm heading back out there whilst I can.
