James
Took the train from Waterloo to Totton in Hampshire, to visit my dear friend James and his girlfriend Eleni, who moved there from London a few months ago. He grew up nearby, in the New Forest, so he took me on a tour of some of his old haunts – there's something really lovely about seeing glimpses of someone's past like that. A fairly bracing walk along the coast at Lymington worked up an appetite for a delicious lunch (fish, natch), then it was back to his for tea and biscuits and a good old catch up, followed by excellent home-made curries and more chat once Eleni got home from work. I learned some Greek tongue-twisters (apparently my pronunciation was very good), but there was wine and then raki so I'd forgotten them all by the next morning. Poor show.
