Eat my dust, Steve McQueen!

As we had a book to collect, we popped down to the library late morning and I parked up next to an old motor bike. As you can see, it is an old army Matchless and is in superb condition. The single cylinder engine is absolutely original, started instantly and ticked over so sweetly. We talked with the owner/rider who explained that this machine was an old Gordon Highlanders machine and had travelled much across Europe in 1944/45.
The old girl is now 70 years old and I just wonder how many of today's bikes will still be putt-putting away in another 70 years!
