The Earl of Mount Edgcumbe.
Formerly "Barbury Castle" and built in 1937 this is a lovely example of a Great Western Railway (sometimes "Gods Wonderful Railway") Castle class engine.
Today I have been all trained out! This morning we headed through Linlithgow to a spot on the Union Canal which offers an excellent view of the Glasgow - Edinburgh rail line. The "Earl" is currently heading a railtour of Scotland and today's route was round the Forth Circle - across the Bridge, round a bit of Fife then along the river to Stirling before returning to Linlithgow. Mag & I also caught the "Earl" at Culross and at Stirling station but I liked this one as the train left Stirling still looking good and shiny after a hard day's run.
Hope you all have had a super sunny weekend. Long may it last!
