Roger and Shirley's house
A grey misty day, the promised sun did not materialize. This afternoon we drove up Mont Caly, put on our snow shoes and descended through the woods to the road at Bonnavix, then walked 2 kilometres up the snowy road until we reached Roger and Shirley's house. They have lived in this beautiful but remote house for 12 years. No mains electricity, or water and they have their own snow plough to clear the snow. The house can only be reached on foot or skidoo and they manage the 28 acres of land around. The mountain behind frequently avalanches so a wall of stones, protects the house. A welcome cup of tea and a chat then the climb up the hill to our car.
In the evening we met Chris and Jerry for a meal at L'outa on their last night in Les Gets this season. Delicious food and a lovely evening to end on..
