Wall of Many Colors
It was a very low tide for our morning beach walk and we were able to follow along the bottom edge of the cliffs all the way to the stairs by the church parking lot, something I've never done before. The stairs are there as a safe way for the surfers to get down to the beach, and normally they simply end in the water, not the sand. There were a couple of small caves revealed, a few tidepools, and this gorgeous wall of many colors. The little white spots are maybe limpets or barnacles. It's funny how exciting it was to walk on the sand all the way to the stairs; I love how the beach changes with the tides and the seasons. I've read that in Victorian times it was possible to walk even further, all the way to the point. Ladies used to stroll there and gather bits of exotic seaweed to display at home in decorative bowls of water. I'm satisfied with this image to remind me of this extraordinary day.
