Reflective reflections

Lovely day, after a frosty start this morning, it's been lovely in the sun, but chilly when not! I had an absolute rubbish nights sleep.......4-5 hours tops :-(

After we waited in for delivery of our new trellis panels, we took a drive over towards Southport to our favourite plant nursery for some new shrubs to plug the gaps in our borders plus a couple of new clematis to adorn the new trellis :-)

On our way back we stopped off for lunch, the little tearoom we go to has changed hands and is now even more popular than ever. When we got there it was very busy so we decided to take a walk along the canal bank at Rufford, to let the rush die down a little. We ended up walking a couple of miles or so, as it was really pleasant and very still.

There is work underway to restore the canal bank which has been eroded over the years, it lies quite low along this stretch. There had obviously been a team of British Waterways workers on site, who, it appeared, were on their way back from lunch presumably, in this small work barge, which was barely above the water! The phrase "how many waterways workers does it take to sink a barge" popped into my mind ;-)
