Painted lady

An Australian painted lady, Vanessa kershawi – not against an astoundingly blue sky, but the old blue toboggan, that spends 364 days a year leaning against the wall under the washing line and 1 day a year whizzing down the snow (if it's lucky). It occasionally gets to accidentally feature in a blip, because it's close to the mint.


This has been a very poor year for butterflies.
