As Close As We Got

Today, we trundled off to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, where we took in the wonderful Herb Ritts exhibit.  It was well worth going to see, and I enjoyed every single image on display.

After we had a delicious lunch at the museum's very civilized restaurant, we darted down the street to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum -- one of Boston's true treasures.  Isabella Stewart Gardner was a patron of the arts in her day, and was a friend of such luminaries as John Singer Sargent, James McNeill Whistler, and Henry James.  She was very fond of Venice, Italy -- so much so that she had her home in Boston constructed to resemble a Venetian palazzo.  One of the things I was looking forward to enjoying this afternoon was the incredible interior courtyard, which always has beautiful floral displays.  Unfortunately, the image above is about as close as we could get to anything inside the museum today.  Apparently you can visit any day of the week ... except for Tuesday.
