Naughty again?!!

Yesterday my behaviour was extremely irritating.  This afternoon I have just been downright naughty!!!

The day started well.  I went for a little trot along the lane and I was very well behaved.  I met the brown & white spaniel (who hates me), and I was very mature & grown-up.  Sometimes I snarl at him before he has a chance to snarl at me.  But today I just trotted past him, even though he woofed at me.  Then I met the ‘two cute Westies’.  Ann calls them ‘two cute Westies’ cos they always look really smart in their little bandanas.  I don’t think there’s anything cute about them.  They go mad when they see me.  They pull on their leads and do their fiercest barking and their owner always apologises to Ann for their behaviour.  Well, I can’t really be bothered with them.  I'm always off my lead along the lane, so I just ignored them and walked past them sensibly.

Ann was very proud of my behaviour this morning.  ………………She wasn’t proud of my behaviour this afternoon?!!

What happened was………………………………  Ann came home from work at about 1.30pm.  I’d been snoozing all morning so I was full of beans and wanted to go out for my walk straight away.  I was leaping around all over the place like a dog demented.  Ann said, ‘Molly, just go and lie down.  I’m having lunch first.’  Well, I didn’t want to lie down.  I wanted some lunch.  Ann was having a fish finger sandwich so I rested my head on her knee and gave her my ‘appealing look’ – and dribbled all over her leg in the process.  She had to change her trousers 'cos it looked like she'd wet herself!

And then we went to ‘Porth Kidney Sands’ so that I could play with my orange bouncy ball.  I didn’t want to play with my orange bouncy ball.  I wanted to play with the manky, stinky, horrible, tennis ball that Black Tulip gave me on Thursday.  So I refused to play. At one point I tried dropping my orange bouncy ball in the estuary.  I thought if it floated away Ann might go back to the car and get me my manky, stinky, horrible tennis ball.  But she didn’t.  And Ann had to carry my orange bouncy ball & thrower for almost 2 hours.

There were quite a few wind surfers in the sea today so I went zooming off (miles away from Ann), in chase mode.  Ann doesn’t really mind me running around on such a huge beach.  What she does mind………………….  is me having a poo when I’m miles away from her?!  She can see me in ‘pooing position’ but actually finding my poo is a different matter.  OK, OK, I know this is probably too much information.  But it’s just another thing that makes Ann angry.  Other things that make her angry; are me rolling on stinky things - apparently I now smell like a rotten old fish, stealing other dogs balls – when I refuse to play with my own.  And thinking I can walk across the golf course back to the car without going on my lead.  Apparently there’s now signs up saying dog walkers will be fined if they do this??!!  Oh, and I tried to uproot this jellyfish/octopus/strange thing by sticking my nose underneath it.  And Ann went mad at me because she said it might sting me.

On the way home we went to Tesco.  I had to wait in the car and when Ann got back in, she said, ‘Molly, you absolutely stink.’  Well that’s not a very nice thing to say to a gorgeous little collie is it?

So we got home and I had my dinner and then I jumped up on the sofa for a little snooze.  I got told off again!  I’ve been in a lot of trouble this afternoon?!!  Ann said, ‘Molly, just go and lie in your own bed.’

………………..So that is what I’m doing.

And do you know what? …………………….I know I’ve been a naughty little collie this afternoon and I know I’m a little bit very stinky.   But I also know that Ann loves me more than any other little doggie in the whole wide world.

I’m a very, very, very, lucky little collie.
