Trinity Church Sanctuary, Boston
A nice day today. The sun was shining, and the sky was bluer than blue (but the temperature was still freezing!).
We went to renew Mr. W's library card at the Boston Public Library, and while we were there, we had a delicious lunch at The Courtyard Restaurant, which overlooks the beautiful Italianate courtyard in the BPL's historic McKim building. Afterwards, we wandered around, taking photographs of the many beautiful features of the library -- John Singer Sargent murals, beautiful Guastavino tiled arched ceilings, regal stone lions, and the fabulous Bates Hall reading room.
Directly across Copley Square from the Library is Trinity Church -- a magnificent Richardsonian Romanesque building. It is the only church in the United States honoured as one of the 10 most significant buildings in the country by a national poll of architects. This is a photograph of the stunning sanctuary in all its golden splendour.
