Fritillaria raddeana

There are about 120 species of Fritillarias. They grow particularly well in Mediterranean climates. This one seems happy in our small alpine greenhouse.
It is very different from the Snakes Head Fritillary which I blipped a few days ago. A common feature is that the flowers are bell like and generally hang down. This makes the tricky to photograph.

A lovely sunny day. We went to Sizergh Castle (NT) where the Strickland family have lived since 1239.
