Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Goodbye Archie!

Well, the visitors have departed for warmer climes (Italy).

They had (fairly) good weather for their Edinburgh visit, though the best day was today when they flew out in bright sunshine.

The visitors are both business women, on a business trip, so their sojourn in Edinburgh was a welcome respite. They had a great time - some culture, plenty of shopping, tasty sharing platters in cafes (Gill was impressed with the food this time), hilly dog walks, gourmet dining at home, Edinburgh gin tasting, NZ wine sipping (Gill is a Kiwi), relaxing evenings in front of the TV.

They enjoyed meeting Archie, were impressed by his good manners, laughed at his antics (charging around in the hall with his squeaky toys first thing in the morning, licking bare feet under the breakfast table, sneaking into bedrooms to see what he could pinch...) and generally made a fuss of him.

Oh, nearly forgot - they also saw a solar eclipse!

Three games of rugby! After a morning dog walk, I am sofa bound for hours today...

PS Well done Ireland!
