Sun Day

Me and the girls were up and out early to hunt for water pistols. We stopped at the park for a picnic and ice creams. It was lovely but I still find it a bit odd to be in the park on my own.... surrounded by loads of couples.

It was a nice afternoon, the kids played together for most of the day. A few wobbles with J (bit of a non routine day) but we are getting there. Slowly. Touch wood *taps head* I need to write up some stuff for her assessment this week. I've been really slack. It's something I don't really want to face doing but I know I have to.

Lily was a star and made us all tea, the BBQ she got wasn't quite the triumph we had hoped. More of a smokefest. But the veggie burgers and Halloumi she cooked were delish.

It's going to be a funny / hectic / emotional week at work. Let's hope I get through it in one piece.

I was talking holidays with Stucks last night. It would be nice to recreate our Canet Plage adventure - albeit 25 years on! Of course Lily and Sophie have taken up the mantle now and are off to Barcelona this week.

The more I think about it...I could *really* do with a break this year.
Literally and metaphorically.
