More celestial curiosities
Having had the Aurora Borealis over the house on Tuesday, today was the chance for the sun to provide another spectacle - this time it was the 98% solar eclipse.
My first thought was if that all we were left with was 2% then the sun is pretty bright. That said it did get cold quickly as we lost the majority of the sun's rays. The other thing was that all the birds stopped calling and singing providing a slightly spooky silence to go with the gloom.
I proved to be horribly underprepared for taking a photo and it was only when a neighbour arrived with her sunglasses that I got this shot through them. Next time (twenty years?!) I'll be prepared.
Otherwise a quiet day based on Gearradubh.
