It's Flowered :)

When we arrived back from our holiday I was delighted as my orchid had flowered. I've been nurturing this along for a couple of years now. I've potted it on and taken great care of it. I was really excited at Christmas as I had a nice long stem with little buds on....but it got knocked off. I was really upset. But I poked the broken bit in the soil and hoped it might take root. It's still in the soil and hasn't died but not done much else either.
However the other bit that was left on the plant grew more stems. Here is one stem which has started to flower.
I'm over the moon. I usually kill anything like this.
I'm really hoping the broken bit will take root. Any advice on what to do will be gratefully received.
