Less is more

My first life class in 35 years and it went slightly better than I imagined.

I did my art foundation in Chester under the very gifted but very hard core tuition of Jack Shore. Jack's guidance was learned and impeccable however he never sat on the fence when it came to critique, frequently tearing up drawing he didn't like. RIP Jack.

Today's tutor was my dear friend Jane, wife of xtoffdav who had a far more kindly approach.

The brief for this drawing was  to concentrate on a tight crop, allowing the body to fall off the sides of the drawing.

Nerida was an excellent model who held her poses impeccably. Obviously I asked before taking this picture and checked she was happy that she was sufficiently out of focus in the final shot.
