Rosehaugh Estate

A day that seemed to be dominated by the charismatic sound of hundreds of geese in flight. They will soon be gone so it was lovely to be able to enjoy the sight and sound of these beautiful birds.

The fields in Rosehaugh were full of grazing geese, until we came along! Poppy, Freddie and Bud were just too much for them to tolerate so they all took flight, hundreds of them, all calling to each other, we all stopped to watch and listen. They rose up en masse, circled above us, calling to each other, hovered, then gentle flew down ............into the next field! Off the dogs went to watch them, running up and down the fence, the whole cycle started up again, the geese rose up, circled and landed..............in the next field!

The afternoon was spent gardening, again the geese were filling the skies with their sounds. So many flocks circling above us, they seemed restless, couldn't settle anywhere, it won't be long now before they're gone.
