Aurora

I was up into the small hours last night. Never photographed one before, in fact I have only seen one once before.

It was possible to pick the bands of the aurora with your eyes,  but the colour really only came up with a 15 to 20 second camera exposure.   Seemed quite yellow/ green just above the hills the south. Similar to these stripes of colour over the power pole.  Note the "pot" constellation on the right hand side. (Northern Hemisphere star gazers call it Orion's Belt)

Initially the bands of colour were overhead and to the South.
Was excited to have caught one good shot. My battery died after just a few shots!
