Pentecost Poppy

We were invited to wear something red to the church service this morning, and most people took part, even if it was only something like a small red bow! The church looked splendid with red and white flower arrangements everywhere, and there was a baptism too. A full church, a new organist, flowers and smiling people, and an excellent total raised at the the fete yesterday - no wonder the vicar looked pleased!
Back at home I found this red poppy which seemed to be appropriate. It seems to have very interestingly shaped petals !
