The Symphony
Behold the Symphony - the largest luxury pleasure yacht ever built in the Netherlands - on its way from the builder in The Kaag towards the Port of Rotterdam.
I witnessed it pass the sluice-gates in Gouda this morning and the - more than 110 meter long and 14 meter wide - ship had less than inches of free space left.
The owners name is not made public, although it's whispered to be Bernard Arnault, the Big Boss of the Louis Vuitton concern.
What we do know for sure is that it has at least 5 decks, 12 jacuzzis, an elevator, a swimming pool, a helicopter deck and a retail price of 165 million Euro's (excluding daily harbor tax, fuel, 25 head staff etc etc)
It was an early start in the drizzling rain today, finding the best spot to capture the boat in it's full grandeur, the turning tugboat just in front of my camera was an unexpected, but very welcome bonus.
For it's true dimensions compared to the houses it passed, click the video here! and for the full panorama photo (in color too)visit my Flickr page here.
Bon voyage!
