Carcassonne

Now I realise I have become too used to visiting Carcassonne - I've stopped seeing it properly and almost forgot to take a photo there today.  How can that have happened when it is such a stunning place, however you may feel about the restoration?

March is a good time to visit before there are too many tourists but when the restaurants are mostly open.  We ate at the Donjon as usual and had an excellent meal.  It has consistently been one of the best restaurants in the area.  Outside of the town a lot of restaurants aren't open yet.  Probably won't open until the week before Easter when the season really starts here.
