Crazy golf and Brightstone Bay
What holiday would be complete without a game of crazy golf. We started in Shanklin's Old Village and walked up to Rylstone Gardens to find a crazy golf that actually was a little crazy. None of this' pirate themed with a few rocks' type stuff - but drainpipes and lighthouses and cannons. I did appallingly bad on one hole that finished any hope I may have had at a respectable score but had a great time on the course. We then drove on to Hanover Point to see the dinosaur foot casts on the beach.......well we would have done if the tide had been out ;o) But had a nice walk on the beach and an icecream and an inpromptu paddle - courtesy of my lovely young man who neglected to tell me the waves were about to lap over my feet whilst taking the shot above.....still, made the sea look quite arty!!
Stopped at Shorewell on the way home at a great pub called The Crown. Sadly a pensioner's coach trip also had the same idea so it was a bit crowded but had a great lunch and then watched the cutest ducklings running around the garden.
Finished my book by the way....not Mr Sparks best work - who could forget the Notebook, or even better The Wedding - but nice bit of holiday reading.
