Palava Lamp

Here is the blip I was trying to get yesterday. I'd been planning to get this lava lamp for an age, but turns out it was quite a hassle in the end, hence the title pun :)

Turns out they take an age to warm up, and time was ticking on, and by 11.50pm, after an hour of waiting for it to start working I had to give up on the idea. Once it was going though, I managed to get a few interesting shots, so here is one.

These things fascinate and mesmerise me, so I spent more time gazing into it than shooting it. This one is a wedding present, and although it resides in our living room, we rarely switch it on. Really should get it bubbling more often.
