Everest to Chitwan National Park

5.15 start today. Back to Kathmandu airport for a flight to see the Himalayas and Mount Everest. Fingers were crossed that the weather would be favourable and we were lucky!!

The aircraft was small, with one passenger each side, so everyone had a window, could see and take photographs if they wished. We had the chance to go up to the cockpit one by one and the pilot pointed out Everest and other specific mountains. It was a wonderful sight, but my photography skills for this event were sadly lacking! :0(

After returning to the hotel for breakfast, we set out for Chitwan National Park, a 7 hour drive!! We made the mistake of sitting near the back of the coach and it was so bumpy, a combination of poor suspension, diabolical roads and avoiding action to miss lorries such as these. Most attempts to drink water out of a bottle ended up with a wash. I was "clean" but probably dehydrated by the time we got there.

We saw mostly women working in the fields as we drove along and managed to blip these two when we stopped for a cup of tea. From the distance the women's colourful clothes caught in the sunlight look like jewels.

Arrival at Chitwan.......from a posh 5* hotel to a hut!!!! Quick check for creepy crawlies!!!!!!!!! I'm such a wimp!!!
