Tourist Tree

The locals call this the arbol de turistas or tourist tree because it is red and peeling! 

The hike today was in the area of Llano Grande at over 10,000 feet altitude. It was beautiful and sunny, which was great because the last time we were here it was cold and rainy. 
The guide, who shared much information about forest plants and their medicinal uses, gave us the humorous tidbit about the tree.
