Lightwoods House Lottery funded
Not looking quite as derelict now as it was a few months ago as it is about to be restored thanks to some lottery funding. This house is in the grounds of a local park bought by public subscription in 1902 and managed by the Birmingham Corporation until it was handed over to Sandwell Council in 2010. The house was built in 1780 and is grade 2 listed.
The most significant dereliction is the loss of the bowling green which served as a resource for the community until this work was started. I'm glad the house is being restored - I look forward to seeing whatever it is they are going to do with it ultimately.
