Geothermal pool

Visited Wai-O-Tapu (sacred waters) thermal wonderland, which is a thermal reserve in the Taupo volcanic zone. It is filled with collapsed craters, erupting guysers and pools of bubbling boiling mud and brighly coloured pools. This was my favourite pool, named the champagne pool. The different colours are due to different minerals and it is so hot that there is a cloud of steam coming off it. We enjoyed the 3 KM
walk round the therml park and afterwards had a picnic beside another geothermal lake. We then returned to the town centre nd visited the Rotorua museum and enjoyed learning about Maori culture and seeing some traditional carvings.
