Arrival at Rotorua
We collected our campervan and named him Trevor. Drove to Geothermal Rotorua, where as you look around every horizon is the lip of the crater of the volcano that you are within! Being inside the volcano crater means lots of geothermal activity and all around the town are hot pools and the sulpherous smell.
This is a photo of the beautiful Rotorua museum. It used to be a bath house opened in 1908 for the first tourists to new Zealand. Next door is the amazing Polynesian spa with 7 outdoor hot pools of varying temperature to soak in with a view over Lake Rotorua, we enjoyed the spa at sunset :)
