The new season

Summer holidays in European mountain ranges over 40 years have led to the Knottnan family being enthusiastic about alpine plants.
Today's blip shows on of the sections in our small alpine house. In a month from now it will be a blaze of colour. It needs no heat and the windows are open all winter. If severe frost is forecast the white cloth is pulled over for the night.
This next Saturday is the annual show in Kendal of the north west region of the Alpine Garden Society. It is a joint event with the the Scottish Rock Garden Club. It is a spectacular event as blippers may see.
