Cabbages, Cabbages everywhere

It is the beginning of winter here and it's time for everyone to stock up on cabbages and leek (cong). There are truckloads of both everywhere and people buy them in bulk for the winter.. Then they leave them all over the place to dry. They are in window sills, stairwells, on ledges outside windows, on footpaths, in windows, alonsg the sides of laneways between buildings. THere doesn't seem to be much concern for the fact that they get REALLY dirty though.. But I know they will be cleaned well before they are eaten.
