Tree pairs

I've been looking forward to today and dreading it for quite a few months now. Pete an old friend from Uni days and I have been planning to run the Dales Way over 3 Days. We were not able this summer to do it consecutive days so today was Day 1, and we will complete over a weekend in 3 weeks.

The weather was fantastic, sunny and warm and clear. We ran from Ilkley, past Addingham, Through Bolton Abbey, Barden, lunch in Grassington where it is still 1964, over the tops to Kettlewell, before taking the river route on to hubberholme via Buckden. So 30miles in all, then a bit of a retrace before getting a lift home. We were both pleased to last, without going too slow, indeed finished 2hours ahead of our conservative estimate of pace. The Dales were just stunning.

We are now all showered and linda has been cooking up a storm in the kitchen and so a celebratory feast with best friends follows soon .
