A BIG THANK YOU to the Rotary Club of Hart this morning!

Thanks to their generous support IMPACT has been able to provide SONO filters to protect households in Bangladesh from arsenic poisoning.

It is estimated that around 40 per cent of people are suffering from arsenic related diseases in the rural communities in which we work in Chuadanga and Meherpur. Chronic arsenic exposure is linked to a range of serious health conditions including cancers of the skin, bladder, kidney and lung; as well as skin lesions, heart disease and other conditions affecting the blood. It is estimated that annually in Bangladesh 1 in 16 deaths occur as a result of arsenic poisoning.

SONO filters remove the harmful arsenic from drinking water - meaning that families have access to safe, clean drinking water. A basic human right.
