St Beuno's, Pistyll

As advised by fellow guests at our B&B we visited the ancient church of St Beuno. The floor is still covered with rushes according to tradition. There are no windows on the north side but the slit-like window, seen here on the far left, is a leper's squint which has a direct view of the altar from outside as lepers were not allowed to enter the building. 

In the graveyard is buried Rupert Davies, who played the part of Maigret in the television series in the 1960's.
