A slice of Lesley's life

Scientist in training

By happy coincidence I think this passes as a suitable International Women's Day blip. Sadly missing from this happy picture is her tie and pocket full of pens. Today in Kitchen Science we made a lemon juice battery and a volcanic eruption. Then in an alternative version of Kitchen Science Anna made a quite extraordinary Death By Chocolate cake.

Jackson played football which went better than previously but has continued to leave him quite spent. Yesterday we had a couple of incidents that caused us to do some research on narcolepsy and discovered some interesting diet related connections so we are now feeding him steak and spinach like a prize fighter. Our current theory is that his fuel tank is so depleted from recovery and growing that any additional activity just wipes him out completely. So we are aiming to both fill the fuel tank and keep it topped up to try and prevent the crashes / speed up the recovery time. It's not entirely worked today but we remain hopeful.

Lovely afternoon with my niece visiting. She is at university in London and it's great to be able to see more of her.

And lots of fun with Albi and her first turn on the lead / chew toy. Puppy class tomorrow and we are setting our expectations low...

A lovely Sunday
