Why get the shuttle bus when we can just walk??

We had booked and planned to go up to the to of the Franz Josef glacier this morning but it was canceled twice due to bad weather conditions at the top as we were going to get a helicopter up to the top.

Disappointing but Amie decided to do the kayaking I did yesterday and myself, Sam, Dan and Jeff decided we'd walk to the bottom of the glacier. Only a 4.5 km walk to the start of the glacier walk......we could have jumped in the shuttle bus but opted to walk there and then the few km on the glacier river bed before doing it all in reverse.

The money we saved by walking we put towards cake on route back to the hostel.

Now at some point, my clumsy side took over and I've twisted my knee, quite possibly re stretching the ligaments I've spent the last 18 months rehabilitating. Great!

Anywho, this blip is on route the glacier.
