Star Wars

35 Years ago to the day "Star Wars" was released to the world, for those of us of a certain age it was the greatest film ever made, it had spaceships, and laser guns and sword fights and no yucky kissing (well not much anyway)!

It may not stand up as a particularly "good" film today but back then it was a genre changing film (compare it to "Logan's Run" that came out the year before or "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" which came out November 1977). It started the tradition of summer blockbuster movies, movie trilogy franchises and movie merchandising (ok, admittedly these may not be regarded as good things).
