all good things...

come to an end...

I thought I would make a compound picture of the last day I have spent with these three together.  Back in December, just before Christmas I took on two elderly dogs (the Cav and the Shih Tzu) when an elderly relative went into a nursing home.  At the time I had thought it would be straight forward to give them a home for their last few years (they are both 11) but that has been an undertaking that I cannot fulfill.  Three is just too many dogs for me to keep so with a rather torn heart I have found a new home for the two of them.  Tomorrow morning I will take them and drop them off.  We had a lovely sunny walk this afternoon other than the spaniel deciding to run off and not return for a full 20 minutes. I had run through the scenario in my head of how I was going to explain tomorrow that I had lost him!  Luckily I was walking them before dinner so being the hungry old fellow he is he eventually returned extremely muddy having heen chasing things through the boggy part of the woods.. ah well.. spaniels will be spaniels!!  So it is a fond farewell from Noodle (the spaniel) and Zulia (the Shih Tzu) They have been good friends and I feel priviliged to have shared a few months with them and wish them both a happy future at their new home.  Flossie will definitely miss them and their antics. (no more spaniel ears to tug on!)

I dread the hand over, tomorrow being rather an emotional sort of person, but once it is done my life can return to some sort of normal which I am looking forward to.
