The Shipwreck Chapel".

This church stands on the site where, tradition has it, the Maltese lit a fire so that St Paul and his companions could warm themselves after their shipwreck. This is mentioned in The biblical Acts of the Apostles.
This chapel is also known as the Chapel of the Bonfire. Two noble families financed the rebuilding of the chapel in the 16th century, as a shrine on the place where St Paul was saved from a shipwreck, and as a place of devotion and prayer.
During World War Two, Malta was the most heavily bombed of any country, and the Chapel took a direct hit from a German bomb on 10th March 1942.
In 1950 reconstruction restarted, and on February 7th 1956 it was consecrated and blessed by Archbishop Michael Gonzi.
