Doomed

Katie got a chocolate mini bunny from her rainbows leader, "bunny", to say thank you for coming to church parade yesterday. Despite what the picture suggests, she did not humanely consume him head first to minimise his suffering. She ate his legs and body and "saved his head for later".

After not being on top form this weekend, she did her homework this morning. She wrote a story about Sproutman. Sproutman came to visit a sad girl at Christmas who was worrying about eating sprouts. He convinced her to try them and she liked them! She did the same for him with Christmas pudding before he flew off to help more children! The girl was called Katie.

It's STEM week at school. They've had a science guy called "professor brainstorm" in today. She really enjoyed it and was telling me how the man had water and special stuff that he put in it and it made things go hard. She described what happened to mud that he put in. And that he asked what might happen if he put a banana in. She answered "it will go hard and crack" and was delighted to be a) heard and b) right. She was frustrated that she couldn't remember the name of the magic stuff and liked when I guessed liquid nitrogen.

When she got out of school she was wobbly about going to rainbows tonight, but after food and a rest she was happy to go. Once there she got a little clingy so I made a swift exit, leaving her playing beanbag games. When I came back she's been practicing her promise for the promise party (and isn't nervous about any more!) and had made a fan bird, declaring that rainbows "wasn't fun, it was super fun!"
