Clowning Around

Yesterday I posted a male red-bellied woodpecker.  Such a handsome bird.  Today, his girlfriend (?) posed for me.  So sorry Miss Red Belly... But I just can't help but see the similarity to a clown's hairline when I look at this shot... ;-)

The female of this species definitely drew the short straw when it came to "hair-dos".
