St Andrew's Brass
What a delightful evening. A reunion with my Brass Band - and although we haven't seen one another for over 25 years - it was like only yesterday when we played together in the school hall - Miller Magic, Bandology, Hootenanny, the Little Drummer Boy, and many many more.
The laughter, the chat, the shared memories of parties in our first homes, dressing up at Halloween, the Glasgow Garden Festival, playing at the Kelvin Hall, the Glasgow Cathedral, loads of concerts....I felt 22 again. The were a few empty chairs (we will track you down for the next date!) and our conductor is a marvellous 78 !
These were my closest friends for a carefree period in my life before husband and children. It was a privilege to know them then and they still make me laugh. I wanted to take you all home with me !
And what an amazing place Glasgow is on a Saturday night! I'd forgotten how friendly and cosmopolitan (and busy!!) it is. Special thanks to the two lovely men heading to Killwinning from a Cocktail tasting and ensured I found the venue when I got lost.
I was a very Proud Weegie indeed.
