LAZYBED JUNCTION
This afternoon, being on Lewis, I chose the east coast of Eoropie for my Sunday walk. This involves the traversing of a whole promontory of lazy-beds known in Gaelic as 'feannagan'. It is an old form of cultivation that is little used today whereby the soil was doubled up to achieve added depth. In instances where the ends of the beds have weathered, this layering is exposed, as shown in the 'blip'.
