PAPER

The last day of February and the last prompt of the monthly challenge list. The Blip for today is Paper and I've chosen the West Highland Free Press as my subject matter. This Skye based paper started up in the early seventies and has served the North West well ever since. 'An Tìr an Cànan 's na Daoine' (The land, the Language, the People) a slogan from the Highland Land League is featured on its masthead - a link to the paper's interest in land ownership and crofters' rights. By coincidence, one of the books on my reading table is 'The Poor Had No Lawyers by Andy Wightman which explores the complex issues of land ownership through the ages. Am Paipear, The Paper!
