Mississippi sandhill cranes

These cranes are non migratory and a subspecies to the Canadian ones. They are critically endangered, the population was down to around 30 birds, but conservation efforts have got numbers up to around 120. A real privilege to see them - and very lucky when the preserve is a very large area!
