The chosen ones

Inspired by TravellersJoy’s frogspawn, and after not having spotted any last year either, I went on a serious mission this morning.  I was drawn to these just catching the edge of the sunlight.

It was very tempting to go back and transport a little to my pond but I have resisted after reading that it’s not the best of things to do. Instead, I shall watch and wait and if the stream begins to run dry as it is prone, then, I might just have to step in.

I read that out of 2000 frogspawn eggs, it is estimated that only five frogs make it.
